ProRoot MTA was the first commercially available mineral trioxide aggregate, introduced in the 1990s. It remains a reference bioceramic for pulp capping, open-apex apexification (apical barrier), perforation repair, and root-end filling in microsurgery. White and grey formulations exist; white is preferred for aesthetic cases.
