WaveOne Gold is a single-file reciprocating system from Dentsply Sirona, using heat-treated NiTi (gold alloy) and a parallelogram cross-section. It is used on the X-Smart IQ or compatible reciprocating motors.
Establish a #10/.02 glide path to working length.
Select the WaveOne Gold file based on apical anatomy:
Small (20/.07) — fine, curved canals
Primary (25/.07) — default for most canals
Medium (35/.06) — wider canals
Use brushing outstrokes; three in-and-out pecks per pass.
Irrigate and recapitulate with a #10 hand file between passes.
Confirm length with apex locator after the file reaches terminus.
Gold alloy increases flexibility and resistance to cyclic fatigue compared to the previous M-Wire generation.
The parallelogram cross-section contacts the canal wall at only two of four corners at any time, reducing taper lock.
Single-use; do not re-sterilize.
